So the tale begins.
Where to start? Frustration? Longing? A feeling of wasted time?
All valid feelings when you spend decades doing something you thought was a great career choice but then slowly learn that you've become jaded by the whole industry. Hospitality can be very good for people who struggle to push themselves into this world, lack confidence, have low self-esteem and have a generally introverted personality. However, it may take its toll on some people. I am certainly one of those people. Two decades spent in the industry has certainly taken its toll.
Now is the time to venture into a world unknown. Computer programming!
I've always been interested in computing. It's been a thing that I've always gravitated towards, whether it be building computers and interest in web development or just the general workings of things.
About one month ago I started a Frontend Developer course with Scrimba. I have fallen head over heels. My brain certainly thrives in the problem-solving, analytical, ocd, neatness and accomplishment you can get from coding. If you're slightly competitive then I would highly recommend it.
My goal is to become a Frontend Developer within a year. I will aim to update my progress and write about things I encounter on my journey. Things that I struggle with, enjoy and can maybe teach along the way.
